Report on the MINASENS Workshop on
MINiAturized biochemical SEnsiNg devices & systemS for health/food/environmental monitoring
an activity of the MiNaSys CoE project (http://imel.demokritos.gr/projects/minasys/)
The Microelectronics Department of the Institute of Advanced Materials, Physicochemical Processes, Nanotechnology and Microsystems, organized with great success the “MINASENS - MINiAturized biochemical SEnsiNg devices & systemS for health/food/environmental monitoring" workshop, which took place on March 7-9, 2013, at the conference center of NCSR "Demokritos".
The workshop succeeded in bringing together engineers and scientists from all over Greece to be informed about and discuss recent progress and future trends in the fabrication and applications of miniaturized biochemical sensing devices and systems. Twenty-two (22) leading scientists from all over Europe (Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and Greece) presented their recent work and brought-in new ideas.
The workshop was attended by more than 120 participants from the Greek research and academic community, from Greek enterprises, and PhD, post-graduate, and senior graduate students, working in relevant fields. Τhe participation to the workshop was covered by the MiNaSys CoE project. The knowledge gained in this event will hopefully improve interactions among Greek scientists working in this field, as a result of the common interests and complementarities identified. In addition, it will help the establishment of strategic partnerships of Greek laboratories with their front-end European research counterparts.
