Best Student Award

Three awards will be given to PhD candidates for their oral or poster paper. The evaluation procedure will be as follows:

  • Eligibility
    To be eligible for the Micro&Nano 2007 Graduate Student Award, the applicant must be registered as a graduate student with a PhD thesis research program closely related to the scope of Micro&Nano 2007 Conference. The applicant is one of co-authors of a manuscript and must be entrusted with the (oral or poster) presentation of the paper. In addition, the applicant must pay the registration fees for students.

  • The candidates should submit their application before November 14 to the Conference Secretariat Ms M. Karmpadaki,
    e-mail: micronano07@imel.demokritos.gr.
    The application should comprise:
    a) An application form as attached.
    b) Letter of support from his/her thesis supervisor.
    c) Official Certificate confirming their student identity.

  • The applicants will have an interview with the Best Student Award Committee on Monday, November 19, during the poster session.

  • Selected papers will be announced during the Conference Dinner on Tuesday, November 20.

 

Conference Papers

The Conference Proceedings will be reviewed by referees and the accepted contributions will be published in a special issue of Physica Status Solidi. The proceedings will be available on-line, while all participants will receive a copy of the conference proceedings after publication. The manuscripts should be up to 6 pages long for invited papers, and up to 4 pages for contributed papers. Details about the paper preparation will be given later.
The authors should submit their papers on-line at Physica Status Solidi before November 21st, 2007. No submission will be accepted after this deadline.

 

Paper Submission

Please find attached instructions for paper submission for publication in the special volume of Physica Status Solidi, devoted to the Confrence Proceedings (template, guidelines for authors, technical information). The paper lehgth has to be maximum 4 pages for contributed papers and 6 pages for invited papers.

The main steps to follow for manuscript submission are as follows:
1. Register
2. Login
3. Select -> Physica Status Solidi
4. Select -> "Micro&Nano2007"
5. Create Manuscript

 

Presentation Guidelines and Facilities

For the oral presentations the authors may use PowerPoint presentations, or standard slides, or transparencies for overhead projector.
The duration of the oral presentations will be:
• 15 minutes for contributed presentations, including discussion
• 30 minutes for invited speakers, including discussion.

 

Poster Preparation

For the poster sessions the authors may use any material within a 145cm (width) x 115cm (height) panel.

 

Conference Language

The official language of the Conference is English. All written material (papers, oral presentations, posters) should be in this language.
