Dr Evangelos
Gogolides has a Diploma in Chemical Engineering from
the National Technical University of Athens-Greece (1985),
an MSc (1987) and a PhD in Chemical Engineering (1990) both
from MIT-USA. His thesis work was on plasma processing and
plasma process simulation. He did research on microlithography
with Michael Hatzakis at NCSR “Demokritos”. Dr Gogolides is
an author of more than 100 publications and 7 patents, and
coordinator of several research projects on Next Generation

plasma etching. He is now Director of Research at NCSR “Demokritos”.
His current research interests include micro and nano patterning
and simulation for nanoelectronics, MEMS, bioMEMS and micro(nano)fluidics,
as well as material surface nano-texture and property modification
for nano and nano-bio applications. He uses plasma technology
as an enabling technology for such applications. He was conference
program-chair for Micro and Nano Engineering Conference MNE-1997,
program and steering committee member of MNE, and conference
chair for the 34th MNE 2008.

• Constantoudis, Vassilios
|
Dr Vassilios
Constantoudis received the degree in physics from
the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1989.
Then, he continued his postgraduate studies in the Institute
of Theoretical and Physical Chemistry, National Hellenic Research
Foundation, Athens, Greece, where he worked on the theory
and applications of nonlinear and chaotic systems. He received
the PhD degree from the University of Athens, Greece, with
a thesis on the nonlinear dynamics of magnetic systems in
1999. After two years post-doctoral research in the National
Technical University of Athens, Greece, where he worked on
applications of chaotic dynamics to laser induced molecular
dissociation processes, he became a member of the plasma group
in the Institute of Microelectronics, National Center for
Scientific Research “Demokritos”, Aghia Paraskevi, Attiki,
Greece, where he is currently working. Since then, his main
research interest has been in the problem of roughness characterization,
formation, simulation, theoretical description and application
on nanoscale. He has investigated it in both microlithography
and plasma etching processes. He is an author of 40 publications
which have been cited by third party more than 100 times.
